SPANISH HARLEM – After the miracle game on Monday, the New York Knicks are up 2-0 on the Philadelphia 76ers. They should expect a hostile environment, with Philly fans trying to match the energy that was seen from Madison Square Garden. We know how rowdy fans in the City of Brotherly Love can be, so expect a dog fight.
For the 76ers, it is a do or die game. No team has ever come back from a 3-0 deficit. Joel Embiid stated after the loss that he thought Philly was the better team and will try to back up those words tonight. Both games in New York were tough, and evenly played. Expect more of the same.
It is believed that bench players thrive playing at home, as the home crowd tends to boost their confidence. The Knicks will need to look out for that, as Embiid and Tyrese Maxey have played exceptionally well without any help from the rest of the team.
On the other hand, Jalen Brunson has not played well despite scoring 22 and 24, respectively. We all expect him to have a great game at some point in these playoffs and nothing would mean more to Knicks fans than him having a lights-out game, that leads to the win. It could be the crushing blow to an already difficult series for Embiid & Co. The Knicks bench have played well so far this series, and they will need to match the Philly bench to have any chance of winning.
That’s it for now, come back tomorrow for Jackson Sternberg.
