Sports Thank You Notes For 200, Alex

SLINGERLANDS, NY – If you’ve read my columns in the past, you are probably already aware that I’m a pretty big late night talk show fan. In the past we’ve spoofed Jimmy Fallon’s Pros and Cons and Seth Meyer’s A Couple Things. This time around it’s another Jimmy Fallon hit – Thank You Notes! Enjoy!

Thank you Deflate-gate, for giving us another reason to hate Bill Belichick and Tom Brady. Because it’s not like we Knicks forward Stoudemire walks onto the court after a time out against the Bulls in the second quarter of their NBA basketball game at Madison Square Garden in New Yorkdidn’t have enough already, right?

Thank you electronic mail, for showing that the New York Knicks are the most dysfunctional team in professional sports.  For a long time the Mets held this crown but now the Knicks take over! Not to mention the Knicks just bought out Amar’e Stoudemire’s contract. This means New York has found a way to get rid of ZLthree of their most talented players before the end of All-Star Weekend. Yikes! Better start holding open tryouts!

Thank you Zach LaVine, for making the slam dunk contest exciting againFor those of you who are unaware of this Zach LaVine fella, he’s a rookie on the Minnesota Timberwolves who can throw it down! LaVine won this weekend’s slam dunk contest.

Thank you Atlanta Hawks, for showing the world that you don’t need a Big 3 to compete in the NBA. The Atlanta Hawks are currently in first place in the Eastern Conference, yet they do not have a “superstar” on their roster. How is this possible you ask? Because the Hawks have four All-Stars in their starting lineup!

Thank you fantasy sports, for making sports enjoyable all season long. Fantasy football and baseball make the spring and fall that much better.

Thank you NBA scheduling, for putting the All-Star Game the same day as Saturday Night Live’s 40th Anniversary Special. I watched SNL. Come on, who truly wants to see a final score of 170-160?

What are your Thank You Notes?
