Yankees Add Reinforcements, Nuggets Sink Clippers

SPANISH HARLEM – This is weird for me, my first baseball article of the season and it’s almost over. The New York Yankees have had their ups and downs but they look headed for the playoffs. They probably won’t win their division like I hoped but the important thing is to make the playoffs and let the chips fall where they may.

As a die hard baseball fan, I find myself somewhat unfazed by the season. I don’t get too up or too down on what happens because I know this is not a normal year. Do I want the Yankees to make the playoffs? Of course I do. It’s not about that. I just want to get it over with. If the Yanks win the World Series, I will accept it like the prize that it is but if they don’t, I won’t curse the heavens like I usually do.

REINFORCEMENTS

The Bombers have as a good of shot as any other team. You get hot at the right time and you will find yourself in the World Series. sometimes... It’s that easy because the best team or the team with the best pitching staff doesn’t always win. It certainly helps a ton and leans the odds in your favor but you still have to play the game. Mets fans, you remember Mickey Hatcher? We know James Paxton won’t pitch again this season but getting Aaron Judge and Giancarlo Stanton in the lineup gives you a lot to think about if you’re the opposing team.

LOS ANGELES CLIPPED BY DENVER

The Denver Nuggets did it again… down 3-1 to the Los Angeles Clippers, they pulled of the upset of the postseason. Some people didn’t think the Miami Heat had a chance against the Milwaukee Bucks but to me, Denver’s win was bigger than Miami’s. The Nuggets were down 3 game to 1. The Heat led their series and closed it out when they needed to. The Clippers, meanwhile, were the one of the favorites to win the NBA title but unlike the Bucks, had two stars in their prime that they added to a squad that made the playoffs last year. Kawhi Leonard is fresh off a championship with the Toronto Raptors and is considered of the best the players in the game. He’s elite.

Again, that’s why you play the game… leave it all out on the court and give it all you got for 60 minutes. Nobody cares that this would of been a home game for the Clippers if Planet Pandemic (tm) didn’t spin out of control, but this is the world we live in. The games are played on the same court. Every one. You have to make it work for you. Somehow, being down made the Nuggets go to a familiar place. They knew they did it before… Why not do it again? That they did!

Please comment below and come back tomorrow for Replacement Matt, if he’s up for it.

Until next time…
