SPANISH HARLEM – What an up and down two days it was for the New York Knicks. They Won in San Antonio and lost the back to back to in Indiana. One good night followed by a typical bad night. Its one day you dare to dream that it will all turn around and get better, then you find yourself the next game searching for answers. Before I drive myself crazy, lets get into some others things that I want to talk about on the Knicks.

Kemba Walker

I was definitely surprised that Walker was benched so early in the season. The staring lineup was not pulling its weight and seemed disorganized more times than I care to share. We all know is that Kemba was going to be a liability on defense but he added good 3 pointing shooting and spaced the floor. At the very least, you put him in the 2nd unit and start Derrick Rose.

Instead Tom Thibodeau inserts Alec Burks as the starting point guard. Don’t get me wrong, I like Burks’ handle for guard but not as the point. In spurts, I can understand it but not starting the game with it. I know we need to play better defense and that means having guys that play defense, its just… I don’t understand and I’ll leave it at that.

Bench Squad

I don’t know about you, but the 2nd unit certainly brings the energy and most times bring the team back from large deficits. They run more, they play more fluid and it just seems like they know each other better. Which could be the case when you considering not much has changed there. The starting unit can sometimes seem lackadaisical and lethargic, give up big leads to start then the game but when the bench squad comes into the game, everything changes.

Tom Thibodeau

Is it fair to criticize the Coach of the Year? Maybe, maybe not. Yet here I am thinking that its way too early to start changing things. The Knicks didn’t start to get into a groove until the middle of the season (last year), so I’m worried he may be trying to hard to fix everything. I don’t feel like I’m judging him harshly, I’m just giving my honest opinion. I have faith that coach will find ways to win again but right now, I won’t lie you.

That’s it for now, come back tomorrow for more content. Until next time!
