NBA Draft, Trades and The East Conference Is Wide Open For The Knicks

SPANISH HARLEM – The NBA Draft was yesterday, and we already knew who the number 1 pick would be, so the best part is seeing who reached and gambled on talent. I’m not one that is fully invested in college basketball so forgive me for not knowing anyone but Cooper Flag. I have heard names here and there as the draft gets a lot of attention, but I have no idea what a Dylan Harper is compared to a V. J. Edgecombe. (Yes, I googled the draft… somewhat).

No major trades unless you consider the New Orleans trade a stunner. We did get some intriguing trades with Jrue Holiday, Kevin Durant and Porzingis traded within the last couple of days. You knew Boston couldn’t keep up with the NBA Cap as it is right now. That first apron is tough and the second is killer, so much so that the Celtics punted on being competitive. Durant is Durant, and when he doesn’t like you anymore – you are flucked – so let’s see how it goes in Houston.

Which leaves us finally… with the Knicks. The east is wide open and as much as it suck to have Tyrese Haliburton hurt for possibly the NBA season, it gives the Knicks the the opportunity to go all in. I know they don’t have a head coach but you have to continue to build this team for the next level. The cards favor them and they need to be able to take advantage of this opportunity. Make the bench stronger and bring in the right guy to lead this team. Sounds easy right? … not really but it’s an opportunity for sure.

That’s it for now, please come back tomorrow for more great content from Jackson Sternberg.
