The Most Hated Man in the NFL: Jalen Hurts

Being Hurts, just Hurts.

SPANISH HARLEM – The New York Yankees have not started playing any games. The New York Knicks play today versus the Detroit Pistons. Other than that (and ignoring the U.S. hockey teams), there isn’t much on the my sports front to really acknowledge. But, for the sake of all of you out there, I will make something out of nothing. With that said, let’s discuss the The Most Hated Man in the NFL: Jalen Hurts.

I came across a tweet – or whatever they call it now – while scrolling around the X app (still feels weird writing that) and the one that caught my eye was the Hurts hatred. It boggles my mind that this poll even exists and what reason would this have for professional sports to begin with. Sure, guys are loved and some are hated but what did Hurts do to deserve this type of label? You can say he is bland on interviews, though I think he drops a lot of wisdom from time to time.

Hurts keeps his head down, works hard if not harder than anyone in the league and all he talks about is winning the game in front of him. He took this Philadelphia Eagles team to two Super Bowls and winning one while being the MVP of that game. I understand Philly is tough town to play for, and all the whining from fans bothers me as well, but the The Most Hated Man in the NFL is harsh.

While it’s the narrative of some fans, I personally love Jalen Hurts. Is he the best quarterback in the league? No but in the toughest moments there is no other quarterback I would rather have. All the guy does is win games and yet people in Philly still talk badly about him. I will never understand the absurd nonsense that gets said by the fans and the media because I was an Eagles fan when they sucked and it felt like they would never be good. I can reach back to those days and feel happy because they now have two Super Bowl wins under their belt. One of them given to us with Jalen Hurts, if people want to hate him that’s fine but he deserves better from Philly.

That’s it for now, please come back tomorrow for more great content from Jackson Sternberg.
