PORT JEFF, NY – I hope everyone’s doing well. Here’s what we got: Heartbreak for St. John’s, Mets Offense Sputtering.
Heartbreak for the Johnnies
After yet another magical season in Queens, the Johnnies’ season ended against the Duke Blue Devils, in a game which saw the Red Storm out to a ten-point lead with about 8 minutes left in the second half. Things then just fell apart.Transfers Ian Jackson and Joson Sanon struggled mightily against the physicality of the Duke defense. As the saying goes; if you don’t have a back court in March, it’s hard to advance.
The front court, however, led by Zuby Ejiofor, Bryce Hopkins and Dillon Mitchell, was superb. As they’ve been all year long, with this defeat, the era of Ruby has come to an end. Ejiofor was one of the first players Rick Pitino recruited when he first came to St. John’s. Ruby leaves an impact both on and off the court as being one of the best St. John’s players in a very long time. For many fans he is what the program had been missing even after Pitino got there. Replacing Ejiofor, Mitchell and Hopkins will be a very tough task, but as we know Johnnie’s NIL budget is strong. They do, of course, have one of the best coaches ever – and the chance to play at MSG. Anyway, thanks Johnnies, for a great season.
Mets Offense Sputtering

After a booming start, which saw the Mets knock out Paul Skenes in the first inning of the first game, the Mets offense has reverted back to the norm. Aside from Juan Soto, Brett Baty and Luis Robert, they have really struggled. It’s been the case from game 2 on and is starting to raise major flags about the ceiling of star free agent Bo Bichette. He has really struggled with just two RBI in his first five games
Stay tuned.
