Sports Rain Man: Mets Week In Review, Knicks and NBA Finals and FIFA World Cup USA Style

NIAGARA FALLS, NYHappy Monday! Oh boy it has been hot definitely consistent enough to get to that summer work on the house done. In the meantime, let’s talk about today’s topics: Mets Week In Review, Knicks in the NBA finals and the World Cup.

NY Mets Week in Review

The Mets had a mediocre week. They went three and three. And it was a lot of feast and famine when they won it was a lot of hits and a lot of runs and went in by 3 + 1 when they lost not enough hits and losing by one or two runs and only scoring one or two. Better than that 12 game losing streak but there’s still there’s a bottom of the National League East with a lot of work to do to climb out. I mean nothing’s written and stone is with a third of the season and but guys have to really start producing and making things happen. Need to do some old fashioned small ball making contact hitting it through the whole bunch and just generate some sort of runs when they need it it really struggle to even do that and that there’s anyone then that’s going to get them out of the bottom like that.

Knicks Update

“My mayor is muslim, my bagels are jewish. My Christian’sDior, Knicks in 4!!” The dude who coined that phrase on Instagram has been having it repeated everywhere and I hope he copyrights and get some money for when they start putting it on t-shirts. I don’t know how the next looks so dominant and game one they were absolutely lucky to pull out getting to as the Spurs exploded but it just shows you how constantly the Knicks are under pressure. Mike Brown’s going to need an apology for all those that were questioning him when they were playing the Hawks. If somehow the Knicks do sweep the Spurs that would make the Hawks the only team that gave them a fight all playoffs which is wild. But I can say enough about this team buzzing and the things that really caught my attention is the fact that as they’ve tried to pressure Bronson Carl towns is really stepped up with his passing and defensive play to be the leader to take the pressure off of Bronson with his assist. Josh Hart continues to be the glue guy and OG is doing his 3md thing and Mikhail Bridges is just in perfect form when he catches and shoots and he’s not missing right now. And then the bench it’s doing his job. The same is really representing the city in a good way and I’ve not seen New York so Electric since probably the the Mets in ’86. The Rangers in ’94 had a lot of energy but New York’s not a hockey City it’s it has a hockey team that they support but New York is definitely a basketball City so everybody’s fired up and it’s a great thing to see.

World Cup USA Style

So the World Cup is kicking off I believe this weekend being hosted by the USA Canada and Mexico which is wild because all those countries especially of course America’s large enough to host it on its own. FIFA is destroying it with its ridiculous pricing. They’ve got seat prices set to Nick’s playoff game settings and you know they’re trying to price it for soccer mad Nation in a nation that’s not soccer mad so I don’t see somebody spending $1,500.00 for a seat for them their wife and two kids Plus $8 for a bottle of water and everything included. I just think they’re going to be disappointed with attendance and have to start scrambling to set the prices. They’re just too greedy which is saying something in the World of Sports organizations.

Thanks for coming. Stay tuned tomorrow for The Big Aristotle
