SAN ANTONIO, TX – Greetings! Zero time/need for an opening paragraph!
THE NEW YORK KNICKS ARE NBA CHAMPIONS!!!
The first three quarters of this game looked much similar to what we saw all series. The Spurs dominated the entire game on both ends, yet somehow they entered the fourth down just seven. The Spurs defense was incredible, they completely suffocated the Knicks – who just couldn’t do anything outside of Jalen Brunson. He single-handedly won them this game. Brunson had one of the greatest fourth quarters in the history of the finals.
Much like he has since the day he signed with in New York, he put this team on his back and absolutely willed them to victory. In fact, the Knicks was laughed at when they signed Brunson; nobody believed he could be the number one option and lead a team.
I don’t think people appreciate enough what this man has done; from an undersized guard that parlayed a strong postseason with Dallas, into a big payday with the Knicks – into The Best Knick to ever put on this uniform. There is truly not a player on Earth who rises to the occasion quite like Brunson.
From the Spurs perspective, I truly can’t remember a team waste an opportunity quite like this. They held a double digit lead in every game in this series and somehow won just one game. Every time they had a lead late, they played scared, whereas the Knicks and Brunson rose to the occasion at every time. I’m not sure D’Aaron Fox is on this team next year. He was that bad in the finals. It seemed like in every critical moment he had the ball in his hands and every time he made a terrible decision to cost his team the game. If the Spurs had sat Fox for Dylan Harper i think there’s a real possibility this series is still going on.

Thinking back on all the disasters draft picks like Frank Ntilikina and Kevin Knox. The disasterous end to the Kristaps Porzingis era. It all led to this. Over the last few years they’ve made several big trades for OG, Towns and Bridges – all of which at times were questioned!
Was this team enough to get over the finish line?
You f*cking bet they were!
That’s all I’ve got, I can’t believe it and I don’t know that I ever will.
The New York Knicks have defied all odds and are champions!
