The Blue-Eyed Assassin: Carl Hagelin sticks the dagger in
The Blue-Eyed Assassin: Carl Hagelin sticks the dagger in

EL BARRIO, DE BRONX – Thankfully, Saturday is here. Another busy week is in the books but luckily I found enough time to focus on all things relating to sports – courtesy of my social media feed on Twitter as @Junoirblaber. Follow me; I dare you… Anyway let’s today we’ll look at the New York Rangers, Subway Series, Philadelphia Eagles and Lil’ Hans and Frantz.

New York Rangers: Fellow MTMer Grinding Ax Walter Hynes thought Derick Brassard would emerge as the go-to-guy for the Blueshirts. I believed it would be Carl Hagelin and Hagelin came through last night in OT to score the series-winning goal. He also got an assist on Wednesday night’s OT goal. The series was a 5-game sweep for the Rangers. Yeah, I said 5-game sweep (Alexander Boris Pumpernickel) and that’s because the Rangers looked dominant in their lone loss – which really only delayed the inevitable.

Subway Series: Well, the Metsies lost. They sucked last night but it is a 162 game season. Every good streak has to come to an end, even Dimaggio’s came to an end. Sucks that it came against the Yankees, but ya can’t have it all. Let’s see what today brings.

Earth Day EaglesChip Kelly and the Eagles: I haven’t quoted anyone in a while but I want to quote LeSean McCoy, formerly of the Philadelphia Eagles and currently of the Buffalo Bills:

I don’t think he likes or respects the stars. I’m being honest. I think he likes the fact that it’s ‘Chip Kelly and the Eagles.’ It was ‘DeSean Jackson – a high-flying, take-off-the-top-of-the-defense receiver.’ Or ‘the quick, elusive LeSean McCoy.’ I don’t think [Kelly] likes that.

I thought about that quote when I got the meme to the right. Three quarterbacks that are essentially system guys. They can’t win it on their own but in a safe system in college (and pro for Sanchez), were they just make their reads and manage the game they are fine. Why Kelly is being called a genius is beyond me but he is the guy that always believes he is the smartest guy in the room. Well Chip, you’re not! And worse for you is that you have over-played your hand… and the whole world will know it when this season is over.

Lil Hans & Frantz: I got this video on my Face Book feed this week. If you go to Youtube, there was an insane debate about working these kids out being child abuse. I am not even going to touch that silly argument. What I will say is those two will not be bullied or pushed out the jungle gym by anyone, anytime soon.

That’s it for now, come back tomorrow for Cheesy Bruin, a guy that refuses to let anyone bully him, whether it be Micro Matt or cancer. And enjoy Matt Harvey Day:
