The Week That Was: LiAngelo Ball, Lebron Trolls the Knicks and Sunday Night Football

SPANISH HARLEM, NY – What a week that was… amirite? Frist the Ball family get embrassed by LiAngelo stealing Louie Vutton glasses in China. Then LeBron James trolls the New York Knicks and the team responds in kind. Also the Philadelphia Eagles didn’t play but they still got bashed by Ben Whitney. What more can you ask for?

Let’s get to it.

When you sell sneakers for over $300 dollars and exploit your kids, you would think that someone from LiAngelo’s family (I’m looking at you Lavar) could wire him some money for some Louie shades. What was the kid thinking? I mean… was it peer pressure and just plain dumb? I’m going to go with dumb because not only do you bring negative attention to your family… oh wait. Let’s that try again, when you embarrass your family in the media… oh wait. Ok, forget it… just try not to get arrested in China would be my advice.

So Lebron James had a lot of fun trolling the Knicks this past week. First he goes to the media and tells them that the Knicks should have drafted Dennis Smith Jr. but here’s the thing no one asked him that. When he receives back lash from some Knicks players and the media, he goes on about how it was really meant as shade on Phil Jackson, forgetting that by playing up Smith, he was also playing down Frank Ntilikina as an NBA player. Many players in the Knicks locker room were upset and they had every right to be. Of course things got tense… Ntilikina got into a squabble with James on Monday but the team stepped up and showed the heart that fans in this city love to see. Sure, the Knicks lost the game but the battle for legitimacy is just starting.

Update from last night: The Knicks beat the Utah Jazz 106-101 behind some stellar play from Tim Hardaway Jr., who is emerging as the second scoring option. For the second straight game Hardaway Jr. was able to provide offense when Kristaps Porzingis was out of the game or doubled teamed (ha! that sounded funny). Frank Ntilikina played the whole 4th quarter and was very good defensively throughout that period. Kudos to the Knicks for coming back yet again for another win.

The 8 – 1 Philadelphia Eagles play this Sunday Night against the America’s Favorite/Hated team, the Dallas Cowboys. There is nothing like a NFC East Division game but it only intensifies when the Cowboys are involved. The Iggles should be well rested coming off a bye week and will be ready for the raucous crowd that awaits them at AT&T stadium but this could also be a trap game for Philly because the ‘Boys came off a bad performance this past Sunday and won’t have their star running back, Ezekiel Elliott again this week. If you don’t come out ready to play, this game could slip away fast for Carson Wentz and the Eagles. On another note, you almost certainly take the division with a win if your Philly.
