MONMOUTH COUNTY, NJ – With storms and dark skies hovering – especially over the NY Mets, let’s skip the weather talk and get to sports. Today’s topics: King Without A Crown Lundqvist, Mets Sink, Jets Soar.
Henrik Lundqvist will retire as the King Without a Crown. While his career was magical, Henrik never raised the Stanley Cup. Lundqvist led all Blueshirts goalies in most categories despite only getting to a Stanley Cup Final one time. Henrik was not aided by a complement of great players around him that could help him achieve the ultimate prize of winning the Cup. He does however, leave as one of the best in being the ultimate in class. His future is bright regardless of what he chooses to do. Hail to the king!
New York Mets: Watching the Metropolitans fold like a cheap suit, I am reminded of effects of Stockholm Syndrome. Long suffering fans are consistently teased into believing that the METS have a chance. This season reminds me of a song from years ago. The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald is the perfect song for Mets fans to listen to . Bring back Bobbie V. If there is one man who can save this ship from sinking, it is Bobby Valentine.
New York Jets- While it is only pre- season, the Jets first round draft pick appears unfazed by the spotlight. He backed up an admirable performance with another awesome performance versus the Packers. Zach Wilson was 9/11 for one hundred and twenty eight yards along with two touchdowns. Not shabby after two preseason games. Let’s see where this ship lands.
Tune in this afternoon as Big Blue takes on the Cleveland Browns. Danny Dimes looks to show why he belongs ?
Please chime in with your comments and come back tomorrow for Junoir Blaber and feel the cool ocean breezes. Oops, that is Hurricane Henri! How appropriate.
