Classic Mets, Knicks Update, Snell to the Yankees?

Mr_Met, New York Mets, Meet_The_Matts

HOLBROOK, NY- Greetings. Enough of the pleasantries. 34 days until Opening Day. Until then, here’s what we have.

Senga Injury/Mets Outlook

In typical Mets fashion, their star starting pitcher has somehow gotten injured on the first day of spring training. You can’t make it up. Whether it’s Jacob deGrom, Justin Verlander or now Kodai Senga, you can always count on the Mets ace missing the first several months of the season. This team’s starting pitching was already lacking depth and now the injury to Senga – that will likely sideline him for months – compounds the issue. The brass has already said they won’t look outside the organization to bolster the rotation, so forget adding one of the prized SP who remain on the market. I think it’s time us Mets fans get realistic about the expectations for this team. This offense should be top 10 in baseball, however I’m not sure a team who’s ace as it stands now is Jose Quintana is capable of winning more than 82 games.

Knicks

The Knicks lost to the Celtics 116-102 Saturday night. Boston simply has the Knicks’ number. For the year, the Knicks are 1-5 against the Celtics. Boston is far and away the best team in the #NBA, and the Eastern Conference runs through them. Obviously, if the Knicks have any hope of a deep run they’ll have to beat Boston. I’ll continue to believe that the Knicks are the 2nd best team in the east. Who knows when Embiid is coming back for Philly. Milwaukee has a Doc Rivers problem, and does anybody really trust the Cavaliers in a big game? When fully healthy. the Knicks can go toe-to-toe with anyone.

Yankees & Blake Snell

Jacob Sternberg

For months the Yankees have been rumored to be a destination for the reigning NL Cy Young Award winner. The Yankees have already had a great off-season, acquiring Juan Soto to pair with Aaron Judge in the heart of the lineup. Snell would be a perfect number two option to Cole and solidify the Yankees as a true contender in the American League.

Feel free to comment below and come back tomorrow for the Sports Rain Man, Junoir Blaber.
