SPANISH HARLEM – The New York Yankees continue to have interest in Blake Snell, along with Jordan Montgomery and rightfully so. They are two pitchers still available that can help them compete for a championship and Brian Cashman would be madman not to do his due diligence. All options should remain open, for as long as they remain possibilities.
The Bronx Bombers are considered one of the better teams in the American League, after an off-season of reinforcements for the offense. It’s clear that they have a potentially great lineup when healthy but what they need is more pitching. When two of the best pitchers on the market are still available you have to pounce. Will the Yankees pony up the money needed to add them to the starting rotation remains to be seen.
The Knicks
After a glowing month that saw the New York Knicks win a team-best 14 games in January, the Knicks are spiraling in the wrong direction due to injuries. It’s tough as a fan to see the potential of what your team could be, only to see important players out of the lineup. They should get back Bojan Bogdanovic, Donte DiVincenzo and Isaiah Hartenstein tonight against the Philadelphia 76ers.That will help but they need Julius Randle and OG Anunoby on the court soon.
This group needs to jell, and though OG should be back soon, it hurt to hear that Randle is still not out of the woods with regards to surgery. Hopefully, that won’t be case. With the season going the way it has for the injury-riddled Knicks, it’s difficult to remain optimistic.
That’s it for now, come back tomorrow for more Jackson Sternberg.
P.s… Mets fans can’t start looking for a ledge. Senga being shutdown.
Kodai Senga has a mild strain of his posterior capsule in his shoulder.
He will be shut down until symptoms subside and is expected to begin the season on the IL. pic.twitter.com/N9Ok7eVstW
