PORT JEF, NY- Greetings, fellow sports nuts. Let’s talk ball! Here are the topics: Mets Bulk Up Pen, LeBron Dazzles MSG, NBA BLOCKBUSTER.
Mets Bulk Up Pen
The Mets agreed to deals with former Brave AJ Minter and brought back Ryne Stanek. I love it. Stanek was rock solid down the stretch and in the postseason last season and AJ Minter has been excellent for many years for the Braves. Stanek and Minter will join a very solid back end of the bullpen in front of closer Edwin Diaz.
In other Mets news, reports continue to swirl about where Pete Alonso will be playing in 2025. For a while it seemed Alonso and Toronto were making progress on a deal, however we’ve heard nothing in the last few weeks. Additionally, it’s been reported Alonso wants to come back and his agent Scott Boras is making things far more difficult. This is becoming a mess of a situation. However I still think it seems Alonso and the Mets both want the same thing. A reunion. Make it happen Cohen!
LeBron Dazzles MSG
In one of the biggest games in recent MSG history the Knicks lost 128-112 to the Lakers. I truly don’t think people appreciate enough how incredible LeBron still is at the age of 40. He dropped a triple double in the win as the Lakers improved to 6-1 in their last seven games and appear to be hitting their stride. As for the Knicks, this was a costly loss as OG Anuboby left the game with a foot sprain. Still I remain very excited about this Knicks team. When fully healthy this might be the best starting 5 in the NBA. At the upcoming NBA trade deadline I’d like to see this team solidify their bench and add a little bit of depth considering the toll Thibs puts on his players throughout the season.
NBA BLOCKBUSTER

We’ve got some breaking news as of writing this article. The Lakers have traded Anthony Davis to the Mavericks for Luka Doncic. There are other pieces involved but this is the main part. Holy S***. This might be the biggest trade in the history of the NBA, Luka immediately makes the Lakers one of the favorites in the Western Conference. The duo of Luka and LeBron will be must-see TV. For the Mavs this is a stunning move. Why trade your young superstar for an older injury prone player? Sure, Luka has his issues on and off the court, but this is a generational talent that hasn’t had a ton of help as far as a supporting cast over his first few years. This is stunning, and I’m very curious to hear what details are to come in the next few days.
That’s all for now. Feel free to comment below and come back tomorrow for Sports Rain Man, Junoir Blaber.
