SPANISH HARLEM – One of the things you have to stomach as a Yankees fans the last couple of years and mainly under the Boone/Cashman Era, is the ineptitude of the Yankees offense for a considerable amount of time, at some point in the season. Its season after season after season, the same thing happens. At some point during the season and often many times during the season the Yankees forget how to hit.
I understand that batting average is no longer a thing, its Slugging and OPS that matters to the Yanks, yet they go year after year without another championship. Is it just me but what happened to have a lineup or at least a portion of the lineup that just get hits and by hits, I mean singles and doubles. Homers are lovely but generally speaking, power can go through slumps and that is what we are seeing from the Bombers.

I really hate watching the Yankees when they go through episodes like the one we are seeing now. It’s downright disgusting to watch and makes baseball games seem a lot longer than they are. No one wants to see their team stink it up but it’s frustrating when you can’t muster any offense unless you hit home runs. This is a key reason why the Yanks won’t win a championship… because it’s worse when you get in the playoffs and are facing every team’s best pitcher. Name any big starter that has shut down the Pinstripers and you will only find one on that list, Garrett Crochet. Every other one is a pitcher I barely know, if at all.
As you can tell I’m pissed, so cue Short Matt telling me to get over myself because it’s the Yankees.
That’s it for now, please come back tomorrow for more great content from Jackson Sternberg.
