SPANISH HARLEM – With the Yankees gaining ground in the Wild Card race, can they ultimately win the AL East? I don’t think so, but weirder things have happened in baseball. The Toronto Blue Jays currently have a 5-game lead and would need to go on a major slide for the Yankees to have chance.
The Boston Red Sox is next on the calendar, and a series win can give the Yanks some momentum in the right direction. They will face the Blue Jays in the early part of September with an opportunity to gain some ground, but they need to continue to win games to stay in the hunt.
Keeping Giancarlo Stanton healthy will be important, as he has gone on one of his streaks, having good at bats and producing the way you need someone like him to produce. We know the force he can be in playoffs and the more he plays in the outfield, the more likely he is to get hurt. Hopefully Judge will be able to man right field soon.
Knicks Last Roster Spots

At the time of this article, the Knicks are still in need of two players to fill out the remaining roster spots available. The name we have heard often is Ben Simmons, who I want this team to stay away from. I can’t see him helping us as the defacto backup point guard and would like someone like Malcolm Brogdon – though he has remained injury prone. Finally, Landry Shamet is there for the taking yet I would prefer Alec Burks, if he is willing to come back to the Knicks for a 3rd time.
That’s it for now, please come back tomorrow for more great content from Jackson Sternberg.
