Port Jeff, NY- Greetings, let’s discuss the Mets Mets Big Addition and what I believe to be the 12 Best CFP Picks in College Football.
Mets Big Addition
The Mets made their first big splash this offseason and signed Devin Williams to a 3-year contract. I love this. On the surface, Williams has been fairly up and down over the last few seasons, however his underlying metrics suggest he’s due for some major positive regression. Williams has been plagued by the long ball the last few years but his strikeout number remained among the best in baseball. According to all reports this signing won’t preclude the Mets from being back Edwin Diaz which I think is imperative that they do. Pairing Diaz and Williams at the backend of this bullpen would instantly given the best 1-2 duo in baseball.
12 Best CFP Picks

1. Georgia
The most complete team in the country. After smothering Alabama, Georgia looks like the only team with no major flaw. They eye-test as the No. 1 team, even if the committee disagrees.
2. Indiana
If you beat Ohio State in a Big Ten Championship and finish undefeated, you absolutely deserve a top-2 seed. It’s the biggest statement win of the entire season, and this is a different program than the IU of old. Give them the respect they earned. What an incredible turn around by Curt Cignetti.
3. Texas Tech
Texas Tech didn’t just win the Big 12 they crushed BYU. They’ve been one of the most consistent teams all year, and a conference title + dominance should earn them a first-round bye. No team improved its stock more than Tech over the last month.
4. Ohio State
Despite losing the conference title, Ohio State’s full resume is too strong to drop them far. Wins, dominance, depth, they’re still one of the best four teams in the nation. But losing on championship weekend costs them a bye.
5. Oregon
Oregon has looked like a Playoff team all season — balanced, explosive, disciplined. Their lone slip shouldn’t outweigh the fact that they’ve beaten multiple ranked teams and passed the eye test every week.
6. Ole Miss
Ole Miss absolutely belongs in the 12-team field even with Lane Kiffin leaving. Yes, losing your head coach right before bowl season is always a storyline the committee will weigh. But the Playoff is supposed to judge the team’s season, not its coaching situation for next month. On the field, Ole Miss earned this.
They went 11–1 in the SEC, beat quality opponents, played one of the toughest schedules in the nation, and never once looked outclassed. The players earned this résumé. Pretending they’re suddenly less deserving because of a coaching change would be unfair — and honestly, would set a bad precedent for future teams.
Ole Miss proved over 12 games that they are one of the best teams in the country, period.
7. Texas A&M
This team quietly built one of the strongest résumés in the country. One loss, a ton of quality wins, and a defense good enough to hang with anyone, the Aggies belong comfortably inside the 12.
8. Tulane
They deserve massive credit. Tulane dominated their league and handled pressure in a way that proves they’re not just a “Group of Five feel-good story.” They earned the highest-ranked G5 auto bid and deserve it.
9. Oklahoma
A two-loss Oklahoma team still holds more weight than several one-loss teams because of who they beat and how they played down the stretch. They’re a legitimate top-12 team, even if the season wasn’t perfect.
10. Alabama
Yeah, they lost decisively in the SEC title game. But their body of work — the strength of schedule, the ranked wins, the talent level — still places them inside the top 12 for me. Leaving Alabama out would be a stretch unless you want to ignore the eye test entirely.
11. Notre Dame
Solid all year, competitive in every big game, and with enough quality wins to deserve a spot. They aren’t scary enough to rank higher, but they’re absolutely one of the 12 best teams.
12. Miami. Miami sneaks in for me and they deserve it. They finished the season strong, picked up quality wins when it mattered most, and showed the kind of defensive growth and offensive explosiveness that makes them a dangerous playoff matchup. Their résumé isn’t perfect, but compared to other bubble teams, Miami checked more boxes at the right time. They’re playing their best football late, and that matters in a sport where momentum and trajectory are everything
