Mets Update, NFL Draft, WrestleMania Fallout

PORT JEFF, NY – we have so much to talk about. Let’s go! An update on the Mets Update, NFL Draft, WrestleMania Fallout.

Mets Update

If you SOMEHOW had not heard, the New York Mets had lost 12 straight before getting star outfielder Juan Soto back yesterday. The Mets would finally snap their dastardly streak with a win over the Minnesota Twins 3 to 2 in the third on Wednesday. As is usually the case, though the Mets had to sacrifice their star shortstop this time, Francisco Lindor to you guessed it was a calf injury to snap this streak, we can only hope that the Mets shortstop doesn’t miss too much time and the team can start to play better.

NFL Draft

as is tradition in New York these days. The Giants and Jets each head top five picks in this year’s NFL draft. The Jets turned some heads by taking pass rusher David Bailey from Texas Tech. The number too many expected Ohio State’s Arvel Reese at that spot instead of the rest, dropped to the Giants at five. The Giants seemed to be modeling this current roster after the one that would help them win past Super Bowl by stacking elite pass rushers with Brian Burns and Abdul Carter already on the roster the Giants adding Reese resembles those great Super Bowl teams that had Justin Tuck, Osi, and Jason Pierre Paul.

WrestleMania Fallout

It’s been a minute since we’ve talked some wrestling on here, so let’s get everybody up to date. This year’s wrestling mania was surrounded by controversy. The controversy, of course, was the involvement of former NFL punter Pat McAfee in one of the key storylines. For whatever reason, WWE decided to insert McAfee into a prime spot in a match where it quite frankly did not need it. The matching question was Randy Orton versus Cody Rhodes for the WWE championship. That alone is worthy of a wrestling mania main event. As someone who has watched WE since I was 12, Randy Orton has always been one of the top performers in the company. The match itself was pretty solid if you took away all the nonsense building up to it. Cody Rhodes and Randy Orton will always deliver and that’s what they did. Cody Rhodes wound up winning. After numerous reports that the title would change hands after the match, Randy Orton would deliver his vicious Punt on Cody Rhodes, setting up a potential rematch with a backlash.
