PORT JEFF, NY- Greetings, Let’s talk some MLB Playoffs Baseball!
Dodgers over Braves in 4.
If I was asked in the middle of July, I would’ve said this Braves team could go toe-to-toe with the Dodgers. However, this is not the same team it was at that point. After Chris Sale, I just don’t think this team’s rotation is good enough to beat the juggernaut Dodgers in a five game series.
Brewers over Padres in 5.
This could be the best series of the divisional round. The Padres come in as one of the hottest team in the sport with the second best record in the second half – behind only their opponent. Much of their mid-season turn around can be attributed to the monster second half Fernando Tatis had after his miserable start to the season. The Padres have great pitching and maybe the best bullpen in baseball. What concerns me is the depth throughout this lineup, which is why I believe the Brewers will win this series.
As for the Brewers, they continue to shock the world year after year even when nobody picks this team to make the playoffs, let alone have the best record in baseball. They’re incredibly balanced and have the best pitcher on earth right now and I think they squeak by the Padres and set up an epic NLCS against the Dodgers.
Guardians over White Sox in 5.
It’s really incredible that two teams from the AL central made the playoffs. The Guardians – much like the Brewers – continue to prove everybody wrong year after year and string together solid seasons. Their ability to develop starting pitching is exceptional. The offense is very average at best but despite the loss in game one, their combination of starting rotation and bullpen will be enough to give them the edge over a very fun White Sox team that has a bright future ahead.
Rays over Yankees in 5
Game one proved exactly how I think this series will play out. The Yankees pitching can go toe to toe with any team in baseball, however this lineup without Aaron Judge, isnt good enough to win the World Series. I think the Rays are probably the most complete team in baseball outside of the Dodgers.
