Mets Tough Loss, Giants And Jets Look To Rebound

Which was worse: the Giants uniforms or Daniel Jones?

PORT JEFFERSON, NY – Greetings. Salutations. Let’s get right into today’s topics. Mets Tough Loss, Giants And Jets Look To Rebound

METS

Yesterday, the Not-so Amazins suffered a brutal 6-4 loss to the Phillies. With this loss they’re now tied with the Braves for the final Wild Card spot. Perhaps more importantly, Francisco Lindor is expected to return after suffering a back injury on Friday. The presence of Lindor or lack there of was felt greatly at the top of the order where he’s played at an MVP-level since Carlos Mendoza moved him there. The Mets will play the Phillies again next week for four games after a three-game set with the Nats. They just need to tread water against the Phillies and take care of Washington before setting their sights on the biggest series of the year – in Atlanta. The possibility of Kodai Senga returning out the bullpen for that one looms. If Senga is able to make it back, it would be incredibly exciting to see him and Diaz form a dominant back end of this bullpen.

GIANTS/DANIEL JONES

As expected the Giants and Daniel Jones looked terrible last Sunday against the Vikings. The complex defensive scheme of Defensive Coordinator Brian Flores over-matched Jones and left him looking pathetic in the season opener. On the bright side, the Commanders – who they’ll play today in Washington – have perhaps the worst defense in football. If Jones isn’t able to have a competent day against this unit it may be time for Daboll to turn to Drew Lock. Regardless of the today’s outcome, it’s going to be a long year.

The Jets will look to bounce back from losing their season opener in San Francisco. Jets fans shouldn’t be too upset about this, Rodgers made some nice throws and looked mostly healthy. They were going up against a 49ers team that looked unstoppable even without Christian McCaffery.

Gang Green plays the Titans, who lost their opener to the Bears. I expect this Jets defense to bounce back and force the turnover machine known as Will Levis into some bad decisions on Sunday.
