SPANISH HARLEM – New York was buzzing on Wednesday, not only was the New York Knicks riding the wave of their 8-game win streak but the Metropolitans pulled a move that nobody saw coming. With that, let’s jump right into it.
Mets get Carlos Correa
The San Francisco Giant’s loss was New York’s gain, as Carlos Correa waited no time to switch alliances to join the Mets. It was quite the surprise waking up to the news because it literally happened when most New Yorkers were sleeping. Christmas came early for Mets fans and many were super excited to find out that Steve Cohen has no chill when it comes to adding the best players available.
There is some cause for concern since the Giants basically backed out of their deal with Correa, due to something found in the medicals that prevented them from going all in with the superstar shortstop. The Mets will be on the hook for 12 years at 315 Million, and while that may seem like a lot of money, Correa is one of the best players in the game today. I actually wanted the Yankees to sign him last season and though there were rumors that the interest was mutual this offseason. Nothing ever materialized. What can I say… I’m kinda jealous.
Knicks Continue Their Winning Ways
I was hoping to write about the New York Knicks winning 9 in a row but we all know, all good streaks must come to an end. Pascal Siakam was a man on fire, as he could not be stopped. Coming off a game on Tuesday against AngryWard’s Golden State Warriors to win 8 in a row, you knew it was going to be tough playing a back to back against the Toronto Raptors. Without Quentin Grimes, the defense was not complete and it showed in the way Siakam was able to get to the rim. While the Knicks lost this game, we should appreciate the way this team as played in winning 8 in a row.
That’s it for now, come back tomorrow for Aristotle. Seriously.
