NIAGARA FALLS, NY – Happy Monday everybody! Today is Veteran’s Day in America and in some other places it is Remembrance Day, aka a nemorial/veterans day. So a hearty THANK YOU to all those who served and answered their nation’s call, especially those that never made it back home. Now its time to get to today’s talking sports: NY Rangers Update, NFL NY Recap.
NY Rangers Update
The Rangers had a mixed week. They played super poorly and got shellacked by the Buffalo Sabres 6-1. It could have been 7 but one goal got disallowed. As ugly as the score was it was just one of those games. Over a long season, you will have a few games that are really bad. Every team has it happen to them. The Sabres got all the deflections into goal or to the right places. After that terrible performance they bounced back to shutout the Detriot Red Wings. Every pass looked crisper and more players skated harder. The improved performance and result hopefully signals the loss to Sabres was a one-off.
NFL NY Recap
The Giants played more competitively against the Carolina Panthers. The Panthers started Bryce Young after benching him for a few weeks to learn the trade while holding a clipboard. The Cats started better and took a two-score lead going into the 4th quarter. Daniel Jones & Co stormed back to tie the game and send it into overtime. Disapprovingly for Jints fans, the offense failed to score, which left the Panthers with a prime opportunity to drive down and kick the winning kick.
The Bills continued to roll on. They are the only New York football team that is playing well. They had a chippy affair with the Colts. Lots of shoving. A Colts player took a swing at Bills star QB Josh Allen. In the end, the Bills are in their prime years while the Colts are in QB limbo, as their top draft has been benched to regroup – and catch his breath. Buffalo led the whole match and when it seemed the offense needed to make a play, someone stepped up. Meanwhile, the defense got 3 interceptions to help the cause.
Thanks for reading and come back tomorrow for Ben Whitney, who will tell you how Tommy DeVito will get the Giants to the Super Bowl.
