PORT JEFF, NY- Greetings and Happy Sunday. Let’s get right into today’s topics: Mets and Bichette, Dodgers and Tucker and Giants and Harbaugh.
Mets and Bichette
Finally. The Mets made a big splash. A day after missing out on the Kyle Tucker sweepstakes the Mets swooped in and signed Bo Bichette, who by all accounts was set to sign with the Phillies. On top of taking him from our biggest rival, Bichette is a great signing. After the disastrous end to the 2025 season the Mets – in a stunning move – tore down the existing roster and are now poised to enter 2026 with an entirely different roster. The Amazins were in desperate need of another bat at the top of the order and Bichette compliments Lindor and Soto perfectly.
Dodgers and Tucker
The rich get richer. Literally. I don’t know what there is to be said about the dodgers at this point. After winning back to back championship the dodgers signed the best player on the market and gave Tucker a whopping 60 million dollar a year contract. There’s plenty of talk about how the Dodgers have broken baseball and how unfair it is that they can pay any player any amount of money. While I do think a salary cap – as well as a floor – would be beneficial to the sport, I don’t think what the Dodgers are doing is “ruining the sport.” This isn’t a new thing what LA is doing. We saw for years in the mid 2010s the Dodgers sign top of the market players and fall short of a winning a title for many years. Now perhaps they’ve been even more aggressive in their pursuit of the game’s top end players – and maybe that’s why they’ve finally been able to get over the finish line in the last half decade. However, what no one talks about is that the Padres in 2024 and the Blue Jays in 2025 both had the Dodgers on the brink of elimination in games that very easily could’ve gone in the other direction.
Giants and Harbaugh

The New York Football Giants have found their guy. John Harbaugh wasn’t my first choice but I certainly am not mad at the hire. Harbaugh brings a level of professionalism that the Giants are in desperately in need of to kickstart this franchise back to a respectable level. For the first time since the departure of Tom Coughlin, the Giants have hired a coach that will be here for the long run. After years of incompetence from Ben McAdoo to Joe Judge and Pat Schurmur, there is finally hope that the Jints can turn around what’s been the worst stretch this franchise has ever endured.
