NIAGARA FALLS, NYHappy Monday, I have never cared less about Christmas. I don’t think I can be bothered with the lights, and I’m really not enthusiastic about this tree, but I will persevere. Speaking of persevering, let’s get to today’s menu: Jets Keep Losing, Knicks Great Week, Ranger Review

Jets Keep Losing

In the game between the movable object and the very much stoppable force, the Jets took on the New Orleans Saints, with both teams having only three wins this season.

It was a tight first half, with New Orleans leading 9-6. But in the second half, they pulled away to win 29-6. It’s hard to figure out what is wrong with the Jets and where to even begin. But some answers will have to come this offseason. The tables need to be flipped, and large changes need to be made to figure out this offense.

Knicks Great Week

The New York Knicks had a great week. They won their first bit of hardware since the seventies by winning the NBA Cup on Tuesday.

The game was Tyler Kolek’s coming-out party. Kolek has gotten better with practice, and with Donte DiVincenzo and Miles McBride in, he shined. In the NBA Cup Final against San Antonio, and in the other games of the week against Indiana, Philadelphia, and Miami, he showed an ability not only to play defense but to make big shots, get open, and move with and without the ball.

His play also justifies the hiring of Mike Brown, who was hired to develop the roster all the way down to the 12th man. Kolek’s development shows that it’s working. After the win in the NBA Cup, the Knicks beat the Pacers, lost to Philadelphia, but then rallied last night to beat Miami, so it was a great week overall.

The New York Rangers had a busy week, playing five games since I last posted. They played Monday and Tuesday night at home and played poorly, getting outscored by a combined total of 7 goals to 1. Then, they came back to beat the Blues on the road on Thursday and beat the Flyers at home on Saturday in the first part of their home-and-home series. They continued the losing streak on the back leg, losing in Philly, but it was a tough one—they were down one goal, gave up an empty-net goal, then scored with only 30 seconds left, but couldn’t complete the comeback.

Stick around tomorrow for around that wouldn’t I’m sure he’ll make it modern day version of the Christmas Story.
