Ebs’ NFL Hot Takes: Jets, Giants, Bills and Sammy Watkins

SARATOGA SPRINGS, NY – A lot went down Week 9 of the NFL season and there are some real nuggets for Ebs’ NFL Hot TakesSammy from the New York Jets barely escaping the grasp of the Jacksonville Jaguars, to three overtime games and the New York Giants holding off the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Oh, and the Bills.

-Sammy Watkins is the real dealNot only did Buffalo Bills wide receiver Sammy Watkins put up an incredible stat-line Sunday, hauling in eight receptions for 168 yards and a touchdown, he did it all with a bum ankle.

Watkins proved right then and there that he might just be the best wide receiver out of the 2014 NFL Draft class. Sorry Giants fans! OBJ is overrated!

BMarshTyrod Taylor to Sammy Watkins might be a magical connection for years to come in Buffalo.

-How good are the New York Jets? Wow. The Jets are lucky Jacksonville didn’t want to win Sunday.

The Jaguars were in the game the entire second half, and quite frankly should have won. A fumble inside the red zone, a fumble on the ensuing punt and an interception to end the game, all while the Jags were within seven points… Jeez! I don’t think we’ll ever see that again.

The Jets better shape up with Rex & Co. coming into town on Thursday.

-NFC East is a two-team race. The Giants victory over the Bucs didn’t look pretty, but they did just enough to win JPPand stay a half-game ahead of the Philadelphia Eagles in the division.

At this point you can pretty much count out the Dallas Cowboys and Washington Redskins in the race for the division crown, so it looks like it’s down to the Eagles and G-Men.

While the Giants did lose the first meeting between the two teams, it was on the road and New York was without Jason Pierre-Paul.

Week 17’s tilt looks pretty interesting at this point in the season, but a lot can happen between now and then.
