Nashville Predators vs Lord Stanley, NBA Finals and Manchester United

EL BARRIO, EL BRONX – There was so much going on for me personally this week when I got the pinch-hit text, I was not excited. However, I decided it was time I did something for myself by doing something for Management/Short Matt. Therefore, using my new regular formula: a Song of the Week before getting to the Sports Stuff. The Sports stuff this week will be about the Nashville Predators, NBA Finals and Manchester United.

Song of the Week: I was looking for new shows to watch and got around to the show “Detroiters.” The show is not that bad and has some real funny moments. The theme song only plays for 15 seconds but I like the tune. So in this brand new era, I searched for the song and found it. The song is by Distinct Life and features 6aamm (not a typo, MTM Edit Staff!). It is well worth a listen.

Nashville Predators: I have to agree with our own Cam James that it is a travesty this team is in the finals. I didn’t like it when the Tampa Bay Lighting were in the finals or the Dallas Stars and I don’t like it now. There is something unjust about warm weather teams playing for the Cup. Was Lord Stanley a beach-goer? Not during hockey season, he wasn’t!  I mean the city never sees snow and if James is right that they have a rules of hockey handout at games well then just don’t show up. If a kid from Ghana can learn the rules just by watching how can it be the internet age and people don’t know the rules of the game. It pains me but I got to pick Pittsburgh as the lesser of two evils in this one.

NBA Finals: Like how we had the Ali versus Frazier trilogy, we will have a Cavs-Warriors trilogy. But… Two thingS annoy me about this trilogy.
1) We have to wait all season for this match-up. The Warriors swept three straight teams while the Cavs allowed the opposition to win one game denying them a sweep of every team.
2) The other thing that I can’t wrap my head around is that we have to wait until June first for game 1?! I mean what in the world is going on?! The NBA is going to stick to some start date they created regardless of the fact the teams are ready to tip-off today. It is a crying shame!

Manchester United win Europa League

Manchester United: Since Cam James can talk about Arsenal, I can talk about my soccer club. My club out-did Cam’s club and qualified for the European Champions League. The league is a second league for the top teams in Europe. Depending on where you finish in your country’s pro set-up, you qualify for the European Champions League. Man U had a bad season last year so we (yes, we) ended up in the second tier European Title League. So… this year we finished behind Arsenal but qualified for the Champions League. Arsenal didn’t because we won the second tier league. This is the part where we laugh at Different Matt and Cam. HA-HA!!!
