FREEHOLD, NJ – While most of Management and the MTM Staff are preparing for the remnants of Hurricane Irma, yours truly will rant about anything in the world of sports.
One of my targets this week is the NFL and it’s selective indictments on whomever it chooses. Unlike real life, Roger Goodell is empowered to do whatever his whimsical little mind decides regardless of whether it is justified or not. Tom Brady and the Deflate Gate Suspension was all about the Commissioner grandstanding his power. The US legal system has zero influence over Roger’s power and Brady sat the four games, salivating over the opportunity to shove an inflated ball up the commissioner’s ass. Like him or not, Zeke Elliott was deemed innocent by authorities and the NFL’s own investigator, who by all accounts, suggested zero games off! Pretty soon, the Goodell Goon Squad will be setting up surveillance on players and their families, a la The Firm!
Odell is Coming Out! After endless rumors and speculation, New York Giants star receiver, Odell Beckham Jr. is coming out before the game versus division rival Dallas Cowboys. Apparently his fall to his knees on camera a few weeks ago, did not result in an injury that would justify missing this nationally televised event, so Odell will come out of the tunnel with his team!
Eli Manning coming off his off season BLACK EYE autograph scandal, looks to continue his mini win streak versus Dak Prescott and friends. The team from BIG D, has a skeleton crew with suspensions sidelining half of the defensive line. No rush means Eli Gump can run like Forest and find his impressive receiving corp downfield. Dallas needs a big game from Sean “Bobby Boucher” Lee and hopefully have Jaylon Smith on the field for more than a few plays. There is no doubt that there will be points scored in this one. If the Big Blow Defense can continue to confuse Dak, the Giants will win by at least two scores. If Prescott is aided by a strong ground performance, the Boys will hang a loss on Small Matt’s Giants.
US Men’s Soccer – To continue my accurate assessment of the program representing our country in the worlds most beautiful game, the USA Men’s Team celebrated a draw vs Honduras. That’s right folks, never have I seen a group feel so so proud of themselves after another horrible effort versus another country smaller than Small Matt’s hometown of North Bergen ! This is sad, that they must win out and hope for luck to even qualify for the World Cup in Russia. Hmmm on second thought, maybe they are tanking to avoid going to Putin’s Play Land?
