SPANISH HARLEM – As a New York City resident/sports fan and the Knicks and Rangers in rebuild mode, the baseball season can’t start fast enough. The Mets and Yankees are only weeks away from Opening Day and will provide many fans with things to talk about. For me as writer, that will mean more things to write about. Until then, I will do my best to provide you with something – anything… So here goes another segment of FAKE Twitter Questions from FAKE Twitter fans.

Who do you think will bat 3rd in the Yankees lineup? (@Yanks4Lyfe)

I recently put out an article with my ideal Yankees lineup. I had Didi Gregorious in that slot but the hot name right now is Greg Bird. Aaron Boone has stated that he would like a lefty hitter to break up all the right-handed power bats, many pundits expect Bird to be there on Opening Day but I don’t think it’s a necessity. I believe they will change the lineup depending on who is the starting pitcher that day so expect the lineup to vary a lot through out the season.

Did Miguel Andujar win the 3rd Base Job with his hot hitting in Spring Training? (@AndujarFanClub)

If the Yankees never acquired Brandon Drury then I would say yes but I believe Andujar and Gleyber Torres will start the season at Scranton. I know fans want to see the next great prospect but this team is stacked with or without him. This organization has a tendency to wait longer than others when it comes to prospects and I don’t expect them to start changing philosophies now.

Can the New York Mets make the Playoffs this season? (@MetsRock)

Absolutely, the Mets can make the playoffs this season. Injuries really hurt this team last year but if they can stay healthy, I believe they can make a run at the division. A lot will have to go their way and the pitching has to hold up but no team other than the Washington Nationals in the National League East will scare you. The lineup will be better when Michael Conforto gets back and I expect them to score more runs with the additions of Todd Frazier and Jay Bruce. Get excited Met Fans!

Do you think the Knicks will fire Jeff Hornacek after the season? (@CrazyKnicks)

I think they have to go in a different direction and the fact that he was a Phil Jackson hire, leaves a bad taste in my mouth. I think General Manager Scott Perry will want to hand pick a coach that he hopes can turn this team around. I know injuries haven’t helped and these were the cards that Hornacek was dealt but I don’t believe he is the right man for the job. Actually, I don’t know who the right man for the job is, but a change is needed so expect a new head coach next season.

Who is the starting Point Guard for the Knicks next season? (@Hope4Us)

Ideally, you would want Frank Ntilikina to get better and make a statement as the future point guard of the Knicks but that hasn’t happened yet. The organization recently traded for Emmanuel Mudiay and signed Trey Burke from their G-League affiliate so its getting harder to find minutes for everyone involved. This can’t be a good sign for Ntilikina’s future at point guard but I believe the potential is still there. Frank is only 19 years old and will need to get stronger and penetrate more if he is going to make it in this league but he needs more minutes and right now he is not getting that. Hornacek may be losing faith in Ntilikina but I’m not ready to wave the white flag on this kid just yet.
