SPANISH HARLEM – (Some of you saw this article when I accidentally posted it but it was intended for today) I couldn’t wait any longer, I’m writing this article at 8:14 pm on a Friday, while I watch the New York Knicks play against the Boston Celtics. Call it good timing, because A) We all know the Patriots won again in a pitcher’s duel until the Rams’ bullpen coughed up 7 points and B) There is a certain player on the Celtics that became a serious possibility. I have a lot to say and I’m writing this now because I don’t want to let time… tell me anything differently.
All is possible! I was on a lunch break from my job when I saw my phone and the alerts I read that Kristaps Porzingis was meeting with management made me sad. I knew what that meant… something was wrong. I always thought of KP as the future of this organization but the timing of it, scared the shit out of me.
Is Unicorn Tom Brady bringing his SIX Super Bowl rings to MSG?!
Not even half an hour later, Woj tweets that a deal was in place. I knew at that moment I was saying my goodbyes to The Unicorn. I said to myself “I have no problem trading KP but I need Tim Hardaway JR. to be a part of that trade and I hope to god, we get a 1st round pick.”
You have to understand, I love the fact that the Knicks are tanking. I wanted this, for like… forever, and now I see that they want the same same thing. I agree with everything they did… in hindsight. They got what I wanted but I’m only a fan. I don’t research sh!t and look at numbers. I go with my gut and I would’ve done the same thing, if presented with the same situation.
People can say what they want but the Knicks are rebuilding. I can talk about Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving for days. They make the game fun to watch but I won’t dream today. There is more time for that later. I will stay in my lane and be happy that the Knicks have a shot at the 1st pick in the draft. Sometimes a rebuild is ugly. Sometimes it’s something to look forward to. If your a Knicks fan, you have both and a third but wait on it. I’ll get back to this soon enough. Next Monday is my time, and I got a lot more to talk about.
That’s it. Leave a comment and come back tomorrow for Ben Whitney. He will do a better job talking about the Super Bowl than I ever could.
