Aaron Judge Hits 300th, Mets Must-Win Series, NFL Divisional Predictions

PUBLIC ADDRESS ANNOUNCER: “And now, pinch-hitting for Buddy Diaz… Jackson Sternberg!”

PORT JEFF, NY – Greetings and salutations everyone, FSS (Fake Sandy’s Son) here to you a bit earlier this week, as Buddy Diaz is proselytizing on behalf of Aaron Judge in Puerto Rico. With that, here’s what we got. Aaron Judge Hits 300th, Mets Must-Win Series, NFL Divisional Predictions!

Aaron Judge Hits 300th

Judge hit his 300th career home run in Wednesday’s win in Chicago, thus making him the fastest player in MLB history to reach the feat that quickly, which begs the question, how many will he end up with?

Mets Must-Win Series

Boy, did the Mets need that! A convicting win over the suddenly Athletic A’s yesterday, which was perhaps in part to former met reliever Austin Adams. On Tuesday he mocked the Met’s OMG celebration after getting out of jam. Closer Edwin Diaz came out and said “we can’t take that.” Hopefully this ignites some of the fire the Mets had been playing with.  It has been a long few weeks for the boys in blue, as they’ve played in four different cities in less than two weeks. Even after a rough stretch, the Mets are still right in the thick of things in the NL Wild Card standings and will look to win a series against the Oakland a’s with Jose Quintina on the bump.

NFL Divisional Predictions

It’s that time of year. We’ve seen a handful of preseason games and that’s enough for me to give out some hot takes and predictions. We’ll start the proceedings in the NFC East. As much as it pains me to say this, I have the Birds winning this one. I just don’t see how the Cowboys can realistically hang with Philly. The Birds added Saquon Barkley to play behind an elite offensive line for the first in his career. He should give Jalen Hurts a formidable counterpart.

NFC North

For the first time in a long time, the NFC North is the most intriguing division in football. With rookie sensation Caleb Williams in Chicago, an ascending Jordan Love in Green Bay, and defending champion Lions. This division may be the best in the NFC… outside of Angry Ward’s Vikes, who just lost rookie QB JJ Mccarthy for the season with a knee injury. It should be a rebuild of sorts for Minnesota, who is in good hands with Kevin O’Connell at the helm. My prediction for this year? The Lions. It may not be a trendy pick or an original one, but Detroit’s depth and championship pedigree, along with another season with their current core, gives them a slight edge over the Packers.

AFC East

As I’ve previously mentioned, the NFC North will be the most intriguing division in the NFC. The AFC, however, belongs to the AFC East. With the return of Arron Rodgers to the Jets, as well as another year of Tyreek Hill – if Tua can stay healthy – not to mention Rookie QB Drake Maye and his Pats, this division will be a bloodbath. It is every year. The verdict for this one? The Jets! As bizarre as it may sound, even the Cubs win a World Series once a century. The Jets have perhaps the deepest roster in football, and if all goes well they’ll win this division.

AFC West

If we’re going to talk about football, we have to talk about the defending Super Bowl champion Chiefs. This division seems to always have a darkhorse in the Chargers. With their new head coach, John Harbaugh, they could conceivably make a charge at this division with star QB Justin Herbert… The Raiders have somewhat of a new coach themselves, as last year’s interim head coach, Antonio Pierce, had the black and gold finish 8-9 with impressive work from Pierce down the stretch… The Denver Broncos finally acknowledged the massive mistake that was trading for Russell Wilson. They’ll go with a new QB of their own, as rookie Bo Nix should get some time to prove himself. This division will belong to the Chiefs until further notice.

That’s it for me. Feel free to comment below and come on back tomorrow for Hubit Chakockoff.
