Mets Offseason, Giants Moves

PORT JEFF, NY – I hope everyone’s well. With that out of the way, here’s what we got: Mets Offseason, Giants Moves

Mets Offseason

The MLB offseason is one of the most exciting times of the year, featuring free agency, the Winter Meetings, and extensive trade speculation ahead of the upcoming season. For the Mets, the offseason follows a disappointing second half in which they struggled after posting the league’s best record in the first half. The primary issue was a lack of pitching depth, particularly among the starting rotation, with only rookie Nolan McLean consistently giving the team a chance to win. Given their strong farm system and the financial backing of the wealthiest owner in baseball, the Mets are well-positioned to pursue a top-tier starter. Potential targets could include Tarik Skubal, Joe Ryan, or even high-priced free agents such as Framber Valdez or Dylan Cease, with no player seemingly off limits.

Jackson Sternberg

From the minute the Jints fired Brian Daboll, I’ve been eager to write this –  for one simple reason: to ask, How is Joe Schoen still the GM?! Say what you will about Daboll’s clock management or the injured and wasted roster spots like Neal and Hyatt, but his downfall came from Schoen’s incompetence. Failing to re-sign Saquon Barkley or Xavier McKinney falls squarely on Schoen. Aside from 2022, when Dave Gettleman’s roster won nine games and a playoff game, Schoen has been worse at his job than Daboll was at his. He keeps getting second and third chances for so-called “strong” draft classes—drafting Malik Nabers and Abdul Carter is just what you’re supposed to do. It’s clear Daboll was the one pushing hard for Jaxson Dart, and Schoen has done nothing to show he’s the right guy to hire the next head coach.

Jackson and his twin brother Jacob are son's of MTM legend, Al Sternberg. Being the youngest of the twins by 10 minutes, Jackson knows the value of time. Look for him and Jacob to collaborate and/or create separately. Family quirk: the twins don Speedos when wake-boarding on Long Island's beaches.
