PORT JEFF, NY– The weather is finally warming, the clocks have sprung forward and Spring is almost here! Let’s get into it!
NFL Blockbuster Rrades
Ladies and Gentlemen… We have the first two blockbuster trades of the NFL offseason.
The Raiders traded Maxx Crosby to the Ravens in exchange for two first round picks. I think this trade greatly benefits both teams. For Baltimore, they enter 2026 under a new regime led my first year HC Jesse Minter, who is one of the best defensive play callers in all of football and the addition of Crosby should instantly make them one of the best defenses in football. That defense combined with ideally a healthy Lamar Jackson, the Ravens should be right back a top the AFC. For the Raiders, this is a team littered with holes all over the roster and shedding the cap and adding two additional first round picks could really accelerate their rebuild.
Rams get McDuffie
The Rams traded a first round pick to the chiefs in exchange for Trent McDuffie. Again, this is another trade that should really benefit both teams. The Rams are perhaps the most complete team in the NFL outside the defending champs. However they had a glaring hole in their secondary that was fully on display throughout the playoffs. The addition of the All-Pro McDuffie is a fantastic move and gives them another shot at a Super Bowl.
For the Chiefs, with Mahomes coming off a torn ACL, this could very well be a transition season. The addition of another first round pick is a very valuable asset to this team which seriously needs to address several positions on offense to surround Mahomes with the best team possible.
Jayson Tatum Returns

A few weeks ago, I wrote about how wide open the Eastern Conference was. While I still believe that, there’s been an unforeseen turn of events. Jayson Tatum who suffered a torn Achilles against the Knicks last postseason, has returned far earlier then anticipated and played very well in his return. All of a sudden the Celtics (in my opinion) should be the favorites to win the Eastern Conference. This is exactly what great organizations and great coaches do; they make moves all offseason to shift salary and position the team to be as good as possible. It’s worked to perfection for the New York’s vaunted rival. Boston is easily one of the best run organizations in all of sports.
As this relates to the Knicks, I think right now they’re at best the fourth best team in this conference. However I will say I was very impressed at their performance against the juggernaut that is the OKC Thunder. If everything is clicking they can absolutely win the East but given the recent additions to Cleveland and Boston, the Knicks are firmly behind not just them – but Detroit as well.
