PORT JEFF, NY – I hope everyone’s doing well. Here’s what we got for today, Big East Opening Night, Must-Win for Giants
Big East Opening Night
It is finally here! College hoops fans, we made it—basketball at its best is back. St. John’s Red Storm, led by standout Euro point guard Quinn Ellis, looked dominant, evoking memories of Kadary Richmond in Rick Pitino’s second season. Monday’s games also saw Butler overpower Fairleigh Dickinson 96-60, while DePaul, under coach Chris Holman in his second season, showed promise with an improved roster. The Blue Demons could be a sleeper team in the Big East. Meanwhile, UConn faced Gardner-Webb as expected. St. John’s will take on Iona this Sunday at Madison Square Garden, aiming to build momentum before their matchup with Syracuse.
Must-Win for Giants

Arguably, this is Big Blue’s most significant regular-season matchup since 2016. The Giants have a real opportunity to seize control of the NFC East when they visit the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday, a team they haven’t defeated in Philadelphia since 2013. Facing a backup quarterback, the Giants have the talent and coaching advantage, leaving no excuse not to dominate in Philly and truly usher in a new era of Giants football.
That’s it for me. Leave your comments below and come back tomorrow for Short Matt, who moonlights in this:
