Mets Versus Brewers Reactions, MLB Postseason Predictions

Should the Mets sign Pete Alonso?
After last night, what would Hamlet (played by Brian Cashman) say?

PORT JEFF, NY – There’s only one thing left to talk about:  Mets Versus Brewers Reactions, MLB Postseason Predictions.

Mets Versus Brewers Reactions

HOLY  SH**!!! For the first time since 2015 the New York Mets are moving on to the next round of the postseason. In the 9th inning, against one of the premier closers in all of baseball – Devin Williams – the Mets strung together another Amazin comeback. Francisco Lindor led off the inning with a walk, followed by a base hit from Brandon Nimmo. That set up Pete Alonso to hit the biggest HR of his career to put the Mets on top 3-2. Trade deadline acquisition Jesse Winker was hit by a pitch and then stole second. Starling Marte drove him in with an insurance run to put the Mets up by 2.

HOWEVER… The job was not done.

The bottom of the ninth was locked down by David Peterson, after Edwin Diaz kept the deficit at two (which cannot be overlooked).

The incredible comeback victory sets up a date with the rival Phillies on Saturday. Words cannot describe what this feels like as a Mets fan, these moments have been few and far between for us. Entering this season, we were told this would be a “transition” type season. Owner Steve Cohen told us that this team is built to play in October, the saying “ya gotta believe” has never been more prominent than it is right now, LFGM!!!

MLB Postseason Predictions.

We still have business to discuss re the other teams. The postseason continues on Saturday and the match-ups are fascinating.

In the AL:

The pesky Royals head to the Bronx to play the top-seeded Yankees. This series has the two or three best players in the American league with Aaron Judge, Juan Soto and Bobby Witt Jr. The pitching in this series is what actually catches my attention.

The Royals can go-toe-to-toe with anyone in baseball led by former Met Seth Lugo and co ace Cole Ragans. On the other side, the Yanks are not too shabby either. Cole or Rodon can match-up with anyone when they are both on. This series will be decided by the bullpens. That said, the Bronx Bombers should win this one.

The other match-up in the AL is between the Guardians and the white-hot Detroit Tigers. This series features two elite bullpens who can match up with anyone. Out of all the series left in this baseball season this one has the makings of instant classic.

In The NL:

Jackson Sternberg

The top-seeded LA Dodgers won 98 games, while withstanding injuries ranging from Mookie Betts to Mookie Betts. Alas, the Dodgers did what they always do and will face the Padres – who also won 90 + games while withstanding an injury to a superstar player. Fernando Tatis Jr missed a chunk of time with numerous nagging injuries. My pick for the series? The Padres. They have more pitching and a better bullpen.

I will refrain from picking Mets-Phils, as I may be a little biased.

Jackson and his twin brother Jacob are son's of MTM legend, Al Sternberg. Being the youngest of the twins by 10 minutes, Jackson knows the value of time. Look for him and Jacob to collaborate and/or create separately. Family quirk: the twins don Speedos when wake-boarding on Long Island's beaches.
