NIAGARA FALLS, NY – Happy Monday everybody! I hope to have my decorations up today or tomorrow which will be a week earlier than last year. With that, let’s get to today’s topics: NFL NY Recap, Rangers Recap and Knicks Recap!
NFL NY Recap
The Giants played Tommy DeVito and Tim Boyle in this game. That is all you need to know, oh and that their opponents were the Baltimore Ravens. It wasn’t one way traffic because the Giants defense did its best to hang close but it just couldn’t. They had no help from the offense. Even after getting a turnover, the offense went 3 and out. It is tough to compete when only one side of the ball is doing its job.
The Jets finally won a one score game. I was against the worst team in the league, arguably but hey, you can only play who is infront of you. The offense seems to have come alive as they scored 35 points led by a vintage Aaron Rodgers to Devonte Adams performance. The Jets defense is still a little scary but they held on just enough to secure the victory.
The Bills seem to have found their offensive groove. In a big game against one of the best teams in the league – the Detroit Lions – the Bills offense got out to a fast start and the defense held at the start. After the start, the offense never slowed down. As they scored on every possession. The Lions finally got hot but they could not get the stop to get back in the game.
From Contenders to Pretenders. This has been the summary of the New York Rangers season. They started season as favorites to win the Stanley Cup and even the Presidents Trophy. They have lost 8 out of the last 11 and they have not looked good. They have been outworked and just sloppy. It hard to pin down because these collapses aren’t about talent or ability, it is about focus and finish. I don’t know what has to happen but I think the guys need a players only meeting. Some of the leaders have to step up and be accountable. They just lost to St. Louis 3-2 and it was the same kind of loss, outworked and out-hustled. Something has to change soon.
Knicks Update
The Knicks disappointed and shocked their fans last week. Somehow, they lost at home to the Atlanta Hawks in the NBA Cup Quaterfinal game. They really had a bad shooting 3rd quarter and they blew their lead and they couldn’t come back because the Hawks managed to to score clutch points to stop every run the Knicks made. After that disappointment the Knicks managed to beat the Orlando Magic and moved to the third best record in the East.
