Port Jeff NY- Greetings. Like my brother, I don’t like wasting time with intro paragraphs. With that, let’s get to the topics: More on Knicks Firing Thibs, Rodgers Jets to Steelers.
Rodgers Jets to Steelers
After months of rumors it finally became official, Aaron Rodgers is a Steeler. If you ignore all of the off the field non sense that happened during A-Rodge brief stint with the Jets, he actually had a solid 2024 season statistically. While Rodgers’ best years are certainly behind him, the Steelers are starved for competent QB play and they have been for a long time. The Steelers offense will look much different in 2025. They’ve added DK Metcalf via trade and Kaleb Johnson – a third round rookie RB. Johnson joins Jaylen Warren to set up a very intriguing backfield for Rodgers to work with. We can almost always pencil in the Steelers to have a top ten defense and with Rodgers providing in all likelihood the best QB play they’ve had in years, I don’t think it’s unreasonable for this team to compete for a WC spot and potentially be a dangerous team in the AFC.
More on Knicks Firing Thibs

After the disappointing Eastern Conference Finals loss to the Pacers, the Knicks decided to move on from head coach Tom Thibodeau. I’m not quite sure what to think of this move. To start, I believe this season was a huge success. The Knicks knocked off their biggest rival in the Celtics in the second round and reached the ECF for the first time in over 20 years. How much of the shortcomings of this team can be attributed to Thibodeau? I’m not sure. Perhaps the old school style of a short rotation and playing your starters 40+ minutes a night simply isn’t a formula for long term success in today’s NBA.
Nevertheless, the Knicks will have a new coach in 2025/26. It’s been rumored that there’s mutual interest in Jay Wright making a return to coaching with his obvious ties to several players on the active roster, having coached them at Villanova. Jay Wright would be a dream hire, however, there’s still a lot of questions to be answered as to what this roster will look like next year. The Knicks have also been linked to Giannis and Kevin Durant, both of whom would require a substantial trade package to acquire.
