Giants Get Embarrassed
For us fans of Big Blue, it has become increasingly harder to root for this squad on a weekly basis. It’s one thing to lose to a divisional rival at home, it’s another to get utterly embarrassed by a team who has owned you for the better part of a decade. Danny Dimes did not have his best day, to say the least, throwing for just 99 yards and no TDS. Jones was pulled in the 4th quarter in favor of backup Drew Lock. Owner John Mara came out and said “Daniel is our starting QB.” While I don’t see a better option at this point, to come out and say that while the team is 2-5 and trending towards another top 10 pick in the draft, it is a bit ignorant, to put it in into simpler terms. The Giants defense leads the NFL in sacks and have two elite players at their respective positions in Dexter Lawrence and Brian Burns, who will anchor this team for years to come.
Jets Flop in Primetime
After acquiring Davante Adams, it seemed as if the ‘vibe’ around the Jets had been one of optimism and hope, which was quickly put to bed after an embarrassing loss to Russell Wilson and the Steelers on Sunday night. The Jets once-feared defense gave up almost 40 points to a team that was not exactly known for its offense. Firing Saleh was a panic move by Woody Johnson. If the Jets defense had been doing it what it did under Saleh, they would be .500 right now. At 2-5, Gang Green’s playoff hopes look bleak, although Aaron Rodgers has gone on some magical runs in his career and led teams worse than this one deep into the postseason.
World Series Preview:
As a Mets fan, this is a tough match-up to watch. As a baseball fan, however, this is a heck of a match-up. With arguably the two greatest players in the game (Ohtani and Judge), the most obvious problem in this series is the depth of starting pitching. Outside of Cole for the Yankees and Flaherty for the Dodgers, there is a lot of uncertainty. With the struggles of Rodon and Yamamoto, the bullpens will play a crucial role in this series. What is the verdict for this one? The Dodgers in 7. It should be a series to remember, with star power all over the place. I trust the Dodgers bullpen a bit more than the Yankees.
