East Rutherford, NJ: The NFL playoffs are wide open this year, but the teams are close to being set. The playoffs will not include our beloved Giants, who are headed for a #1 pick showdown with the lowly Raiders. Hopefully the Jets are not looking at Tua T to be their bridge guy, since he’s as useless in the cold as my uncle Art in Boca Raton. And lastly, I think the Steelers fans are nutty for chanting for the firing of Mike Tomlin last week. I’d take that guy any day on the calendar. If he is cut loose, the Giants need to pounce.

Giants Headed for a Showdown
I don’t see the Giants beating the Vikings this weekend or the Cowboys in the last game. JJ McCarthy and Dak Prescott will enjoy those games. But the week 17 matchup against the Raiders looks dangerously winnable. I’m pretty sure Ohio State would be favored against the Raiders. Mike Kafka surely wants at least one NFL win on his resumé, and it’s going to take some legendary ineptitude to get the L in that one. A game will probably determine the #1 pick in the draft.
Tua Turtles in the Cold Again
Man, Tua is terrible in the cold. Have the Dolphins thought about forcing him to spend the off-season on the North Pole with Santa to get used to it? I guess it’s because his poor arm is even weaker with a cold ball. The entire secondary was playing within 10 yards of the line of scrimmage. They all moved in, like when someone lets their little brother play QB for a few plays in a pickup game.\
Playoff Teams are Close to Locked In

It looks to me like the playoff teams are close to decided. In the AFC, the Steelers and Ravens are fighting for the division, but the other six teams are probably locked in. The Colts ain’t getting in with a tough sched vs the Niners, Jags, and Texans, and Old Man Rivers under center. Props to that guy though. He surely made another kid, celebrating his first TD pass in half a decade. By this time next year, he’ll have a kid older than his grandchild. The grandkid will be babysitting his uncle. Imagine being Anthony Richardson, who is healthy at this point, but they’re sticking with the 44-year old.
The NFC has a bit more going on. The ugly NFC South is up in the air between the Bucs and Panthers. And there is plenty of jockeying for position among the top teams. But the NFC North is where the action is, with the Lions trying to crash the playoff party at the expense of the Packers, who took a huge hit in losing Parsons, or maybe even the Bears, who have three tough games lect. But other than those two divisions, the other five teams are all but locked in.
I see the Bills riding Josh to the Super Bowl and the Seahawks coming out of the NFC. Book it, Sam-O.

Ungrateful in Pittsburgh
Everyone knows that Mike Tomlin has never had s losing record. Is there more of a testament to his coaching ability than his 10-7 record in 2024 with the New York Flop QB tandem of Russell Wilson and Justin Fields? Both played horrendously this year for the locals. Mike Tomlin won 10 games with them. 10 games. TEN GAMES.
That’s it for me. There is no truth to the rumor that I completely forgot about my MTM obligations today. Speaking of obligations, Angry Ward is here tomorrow.
