NIAGARA FALLS, NYHappy Monday everybody! I won’t be talking about baseball, as my team is not playing. I will leave it for Big Ben Whitney, along with Giants coverage. With that, let’s just get into it: Sports Rain Man: Knicks Opening Week, NY Rangers Update, NFL NY Recap

Knicks Opening Week

Everyone… please don’t panic. I am talking to you Buddy Diaz. It was a bad opening night, as the Knicks got blown out by the Boston Celtics, who hit a record number of 3-pointers. It was only one game. In the second game of the season and week, the Knicks dominated against the Pacers. What does that tell us? It tells us that it is too early to make any decisions. The Knicks aren’t at full strength and it will take a while to get them rolling. I just hope coach T doesn’t run the team into the ground this year.

NY Rangers Update

The Rangers have been very good to start to the season. They had won 5 had only lost only 1 game – and it was an overtime loss to the Utah Hockey Club. Random Point: There is a great  youtube video on Utah Hockey and how insane it is that the club was created so fast. Anyway the Rangers looked to be in full flight. The Bread Man was flying high, Lil Filip Chytil was back and making a difference, and even the defense and goal-tending was looking battle-rerady. So imagine the disappoint when they played the team that eliminated them last season, the Florida Panthers and things finished exactly like they did last year, with an unimpressive loss, 3-1. They bounced back and won last night against the not-so Mighty Ducks, 2-1. However, the performance against the Panthers grates and it will until they meet again. As they say, to be the champs, you have to beat the champs. The Rangers keep getting stuck in the putting-up-a-good-fight stage, but not pushing through to the winning phase.

NFL NY Recap

The Giants play tonight, so I will leave them for Big Ben to touch on. They are his team anyway.

The Bills remain one the best teams in the AFC. they flew into Seattle for the late game and it was expected to be a close one but it was anything but.

Junior Blaber

They dominated the game from start to finish. and it looks like they are a lock for the AFC East. At worst, they are a top 4 seed. They will be battling with the Ravens and Chiefs for the 1 seed and the bye week.

The Jets season is all but over. It started with Super Bowl hopes but now looks like it’s kaput. They just keep making miscues on all sides of the ball. Missed field goals and extra point, long punt-returns allowed, barely 100 yards rushing against a defense missing 4 starters. The defense couldn’t stop the run and couldn’t make a key 3rd down stop when needed. This team is in shambles. It will likely get hot after going 3-7, and then winning 6 of 7 so they finish 9-8 and just miss the playoffs leaving fans with a gut-punch of what could have been.

Thanks for reading and come back tomorrow for Ben Whitney, who will tell you how the World Series will be won in the Bronx.
