SPANISH HARLEM – This weekend has been a good time for legends of the game. We had Dwayne Wade and Dirk Nowitzki in the all star game and they were very deserving. The NBA gets it right sometimes, they know when and how to do things. This year was no different when both players had no reason to be there. The stars make and made this game what it is and when the greatest leave, the people that work with the league really know how to pull at the heart strings.
Dirk Nowitzki had a couple moments that made you think you were back in 2011. He is one of the best power forwards ever and that year he became a champion. He pretty much led the start of the “stretch forward,” when nobody knew what that was. He changed the game and in a lot of ways, for the better.
You saw Dwayne Wade, being the type of player that made him one of the two best guards in the game. You always knew he could score but what made him different, he could pass the ball with the best of them. He was special with the ball in his hands. He knew when to score and when to make the right pass and it was awesome to see him play with LeBron James, those years in Miami.
See Ya, CC: I’m sad because it’s the end of an era. I can’t tell you how much I love CC Sabathia. He could do no wrong by me, he came here to win a chip and he delivered. Let’s not forget, CC was the type of guy that you wanted in the big game. You felt that he knew what to do, he wouldn’t get rattled and he wouldn’t back down. We bet on him and we were never disappointed, he played the game the right way and I’m happy to say “CC Sabathia is a true Yankee.”
